Large mural housed inside large brick building. Mural features a Black man in a suit and a Black farmer exchanging peanuts. Background: a farm scape on the left and a factory scape in the background on the right. Presumably the mural is a reference to George Washington Carver.

Underrated Museum with Fascinating, Extensive Collection

Selma, AL

Selma's Old Depot Museum is a beautiful building (formerly a train station and the state's forensic lab) with an extensive collection. A few highlights: massive Felix Gaines murals, world-renowned photo collection of early-1900s rural Black life, a bow and arrow made by Geronimo, a late 1800s carriage, and a shank collection.
